The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions and reactions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them we control us.
Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we no longer have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is with us not being aware of our own habits, routine, impulse, and reaction, that we are now controlling them. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions now can cause us to stop and think about them. So, when we’re not even aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them that we control us.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we leave ourselves no room to notice our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. We end up acting as though we’re on autopilot rather than simply being in control of our actions. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions all carry us through our lives. But when we are not even aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we are now controlling them.
“I had a lot of time to think, as I had a lot of time to think, and my mind was in a state of flux, and I had a lot of time to think about all the things that I was worried about, and all I was worried about was my family, and my business, and my friends, and the fact that I was worried about something that was going to happen to me, and my life, and my sanity, and my happiness and my job.
When we are aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we now have more power over them. We can better choose our actions and take control of them. Although most of us prefer to think of ourselves as being in control, our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions make us feel as if we are not.
Just like every other time-loop, the fact that we can’t control our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions makes it impossible to actually learn anything we can from them. We should make it our goal to learn from them and avoid making them our enemy.
It’s clear that our brains are quite capable of learning everything we can from them. I wish we could have known more about this world, but we don’t.
Like most other time-loops, we are programmed to feel as if our lives are like a time loop. I think a lot of us suffer from what can be loosely termed the inability to “learn” from our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. We are so used to the things we are used to doing, that we really don’t have much of a clue as to why they are the way they are.
