Glycolic acid and salicylic acid are two different acids that act on the same molecule, but on different sides of the same molecule. They both produce the same color change on your tongue, but the two are completely different from each other. I recommend mixing them in a glass of water to see which one is produced. It is important to note that you should only use these two acids if you have to. The other ones have a much more dangerous side-effect.
