The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
The point is that we can’t just stop thinking about something. By our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we are in a loop. A loop that we are never aware of or responsible for. But, as long as we are constantly going, “dont you want to stop?” we will continue.
My favorite book is The Death-Loop Book. If you want to go on autopilot for so long, you must have some sort of “stop-and-go” strategy. A person who spends hours on his computer or a new computer for the first time and then has to stop and move on to the next topic will need to be a “stop-and-go” guy.
As much as I love this book, I would never take it as a “go to” reference. I actually think that the concept of a “Death-Loop” is way too complicated. There are many “loop” things that people do and people think that they are “looping” from. The idea that an individual has to stop and go and come back is way too complex to be a “loop” concept.
I think we can all use a little goop every now and then. But I think that the key is to be able to stop and go when you need to. If you don’t, you stop going and then you get stuck. It’s the same thing we do on vacation or when we’re in school and we have to stop and move on.
The best way to stop going on a loop is to stop thinking about it. Just stop and breathe. Go back to the moment and the place and just be. This is exactly what I try to do. This is what I live for. My life is all about me.
This is a very true statement. Sometimes we need to stop and go and just be. But we can also be productive and make ourselves better. I think this is so important since it is so easy to go on a loop. I mean think about it. If you are constantly thinking that you have to do something, that you have to clean the bathroom, and do something, you never get anywhere. Now think about that.
I think the way we should all be thinking is, “I can’t do this. I have to stop and do something else.” I can go for a walk, I can play with my kids, I can go to the store. If I don’t do something, I feel like I just wasted my time. But if I take a break, I feel like I accomplished something. It’s okay to feel like this.
This is where the “vegan” factor comes in. If you are constantly thinking you have to do something, you are just making yourself stressed. When you are constantly engaged in something, you are always busy and stressed. So the next time you think you have to do something, think about all the things you could be doing instead. And then you can get back to doing something. Your brain will tell you when you have done something and when you haven’t.
