I was getting a razor cut on my calf, and then I asked a friend what she thought about it. She said, “No one needs to cut themselves like that.” I asked her if it hurt. She said, “It hurts.” I asked her if she was hurt. She said, “It’s not very deep.” I had to go to the emergency room because I was so out of it with the pain.
We all know that a lot of people in the world are just like Colt in the beginning and we don’t care how it goes. We all know that it’s not good to lose weight like that. We all know that we’re not good for ourselves.
The pain of it is not unlike when a dog goes to the doctor and is given a shot and the doctor says, “Hey, it looks like your dog is pooping a lot of blood and you’ve got blood all over your hands, but please don’t let it stop you from your daily workout.
Now, you may be saying, “That is the wrong way to help a dog.” You may be saying that you wish you could do that. But that is the truth.
The key point being that you can do that all you want, but you cannot actually help yourself. We each have different levels of our own awareness and awareness of our own minds and bodies. We might all be able to do some things, but even then, it’s not a matter of “do this, and youll see how much better you feel.” It’s a matter of your own personal awareness.
I believe that in order to get a better mind-body connection, we must first learn to relax. Whether that means taking a cold shower, going for a bike ride, or simply simply allowing our minds and bodies to have a rest.
Relaxation is a very important thing because it allows us to release tension, which in turn allows our bodies to release toxins and endorphins that we’ve been holding in. When we are relaxed, we are able to release chemicals like cortisol, which are the hormones that regulate our moods. When we are tense, we have a tendency to have elevated cortisol levels, which have been linked to poor mental health.
When we are relaxed, we have a tendency to have excessive cortisol levels. These are the chemicals that are associated with cortisol and are known as cortisol spikes.
It’s not just our moods that change as a result of cortisol spikes. If you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time, you will know that our heart races. This is because the adrenal glands, which are responsible for the production of cortisol, release adrenaline, which also causes our heart to speed up.
We think our heart doesn’t have to work hard because it’s on automatic pilot. But in reality, it only has to work hard for a short period of time, then back off to wait for the stress to pass. And we know how long this takes because we know how long it takes to get our blood pressure to be at the right level. And when the cortisol spikes hit, our heart beats so hard that it’s difficult to breathe.
