The numbers below are designed to help you understand what your skin color is like on a scale of 0-1, 0 being the darkest and 1 being the whitest you can be. This color chart is adapted from the International Skin Color Consultants.
What the skin color chart can’t tell you is how many freckles you have.
The skin color chart can help you sort your freckles into the categories of “light” and “medium” freckles. A light freckle is one that is very rare and very light in color, for example, freckles on your nose. A medium freckle is one that’s medium in color and medium in size, for example, freckles on your cheek.
The best part about the skin color chart is that you can see where your freckles are on a person, and based on this, you can make a guess as to whether or not you would like to be a medium or a light freckle. This would actually be a really helpful tool for a lot of people, especially with darker people.
This is all well and good, but the real reason I want to know if you are medium or light freckles is that I’m curious as to why you picked that color. I mean, really, really curious. I’d love to see a study of your skin color chart that shows your freckles against actual people. You know, that would really be something.
The problem is that we have so little information about skin color that we have to rely mostly on the results of our own research. We have a few good studies, but the ones that we do have are really just a single color that are assigned to us based on our genetics. So, for instance, we know that your skin is a light blue while mine is a medium blue because of the genes that come from my mother.
As it turns out, if you want to be blue-eyed, you need to have a mother of a similar color. Now, that’s not to say that we don’t want to share all the good news about ourselves. We’re hoping to do a study where we’ll find out what your skin color and genetics mean. What we have so far are two studies that show that if you’re of a similar skin color to your parents, you tend to have a shorter life expectancy.
One study suggests that if your skin color is similar to your mother, you are less likely to experience severe depression. Another study suggests that if your skin color is similar to your father, you are more likely to develop serious anxiety.
So does this mean that if your skin color is similar to your parents, you should be less depressed? I would say, “No,” because if your skin is the same color as your parents, your chances of suffering from depression and anxiety are pretty much equal.
I don’t think I’m saying that if your skin is the same color as your father, you are a more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety, but I do think that if your skin is similar to your parents, you are more likely to have a mental illness. These are all very complex correlations that involve other factors like genetics, stress, and a number of other things that we don’t currently have the data to nail down.
